# Trigger Flows by Segment

> Send subscribers a Flow as soon as they enter one of your segments.

Learn more about sending messages to subscribers who meet certain segment rules. This will allow you to send more personalized messages through Experiences. 

How it works

Subscribers will trigger the "**Joined a Segment**" Experience by entering the Segment based on the rules set. 

## Create a Segment

* Create new Segment.
* Select rules for Segment.
  * Example - target subscribers who have a "vip\_tier\_name" that "contains" the string "Members."

## Create a New Flow

* Create new blank Experience
* Customize your Flow to send the personalized message
* Navigate to Settings
  * Change "Trigger" to "Joined a Segment"
  * Select the "Segment" for the Experience to target
