If you’re looking to use Emotive Popups on a WooCommerce / Wordpress, BigCommerce, or custom site, please follow the instructions below.

Install on Wordpress / WooCommerce

To install your Emotive Popups onto your Wordpress / WooCommerce site, you’ll need to add a plugin to your site and paste your popup’s code into your site’s header.

Add Wordpress Plugin

  • Navigate to your Wordpress admin dashboard.
  • Head to Plugins on the left side of your dashboard.
  • Click Add New Plugin.
  • Search for “wpcode” in the search bar.
  • Select Install Now.
  • Click Activate.

Locate your Emotive Popup Code

  • In a new tab, log into your Emotive Dashboard and navigate to your Popups.
  • Click into the popup you’d like to add to your Wordpress site.
  • Head to the Configure step.
  • Copy the code snippet.

Install your Emotive Code in Wordpress

  • Navigate back to your Wordpress admin.
  • Head to to Code Snippets > Header & Footer on the left side of your dashboard.
  • Paste the code snippet from Emotive into the Header section.
  • Save your changes.

Install on BigCommerce

To install your Emotive popup on your BigCommerce site, you’ll need to create a new script in your storefront and install your Emotive code snippet.

Create a new script in BigCommerce

  • Log into your BigCommerce admin dashboard and head to Storefront.
  • Navigate to your Script Manager on the left side of your dashboard.
  • Click Create a Script.
  • Type “Emotive Popup Script” in the Script Name field.
  • Click to enable on All pages under the Location settings.
  • Select Script under the Script type settings.

Locate your Emotive Popup Code

  • In a new tab, log into your Emotive Dashboard and navigate to your Popups.
  • Click into the popup you’d like to add to your BigCommerce site.
  • Head to the Configure step.
  • Copy the code snippet.

Install your Emotive Code in BigCommerce

  • Navigate back to your BigCommerce Script Manager.
  • Paste your Emotive code snippet into the Script contents field.
  • Save your changes.

Install on a Custom Site

To install your popup on a custom site that’s not Shopify, BigCommerce, or Wordpress, follow these instructions.

Create a new popup

  • Log into Emotive and navigate to List Growth > Signup Forms.
  • Click Create signup form.
  • Create your new Popup.

Install your Emotive popup code

  • Select the ellipsis (3 dots) on the right of your new popup.
  • Click to Edit Install Code.
  • Copy the JS script.
  • Paste it before the </head> tag or the </body> tag in the Header portion of your website’s code.
